Tracing
Original
Outcome
Process
From the start, I make the original image into template so that will be easy for doing the trace in a new layer. By using outline, it only shows the outline of the shapes form. I also used Group, Merge and Divide for it.

After all the sketches have done, I started filling in colours of itself by using Teardrop. For toning, I used Gradient Tools and Mesh Tools.

For the Mirror and the artwork, I use 'Clipping Mask' based on the original image

Mesh
Original
Outcome
Process

This tracing only include Mesh Tool. Same as before, I make the original image to template and start tracing on a new layer.

I make the shadow in the second layer.

In third layer i start forming the back of the fruit

In fourth layer, I make the rest of the portion.

Outcome

Process

I first change the original image to templete

I then start putting in words

Due to the curf of the image, I use warp to change it's arrangement

After i done placing the words, I highlight all the words and go 'Object' and find 'Flatten transparency' tick the 'Convert All Text to Outline'. After that click 'OK', and again make 'Compound path'.

I copy the original image and paste it at the same layer of the words, after that I arrange it to back and place it with an accurate position and make 'Clipping mask'

Now I start making the background with 'Gradient Tools'

Retouch

Original
Outcome
Process

First, I place the original image on the board and till it to the image size

I start work on a new layer same as the original by draging down the layer to the 'New Layer'. Then I use 'Spot Healing Brush Tools' to smoothen the face

After done doing her face, I merge the layer with the previous layer and again create a new layer base on it.

I use 'Smudge Tools' to make the background a balance colour and I put in colours for lips, eyebrow and eye lids separately in separate layer. To make the colour more natural, I decrease the opacity of the additional make up.

Now, I change eye lens' colour to light brown

I make the skin tone more lighter and change the hair colour more sharper separately in separate layer.

I use blur to make a smooth effect for only the face, to do that I make two layer of the image and make the top of it blur. After that, by using eraser I erase of the portion that I want it to stay clear, such as eyebrows, hair, shirt, eye, teeth all expect face and neck. Then,  I lighten the original picture with contrast.

Magazine Cover

Refereance

Outcome 1
Outcome2

Process

1. First, I start off with new by A4 size with 3mm bleed.

After that, I use 'Show Ruler' from right click and pull 4 guide line to all side.

Then, I make some rectangle with 'Rectangle Tools' and turn all of it to guides by 'Make Guides'. After done making guides, I lock all guides with 'Lock Guides' so that it won't interfere from work

I crop a part of the image with 'Clipping Mask' as same sizes as the Artboard.

I start putting in the title of the magazine.

After that, I put in some information of the article inside the magazine.

Following with barcode inplacement and a logo. Logo I crop it with 'Clipping Mask' in another tab and paste in here.

2. First, I use an image from the previous work I have done and transform it to a outline.

I start with putting in the cover text

To make contrast for the cover, I used different colour without tone for the furniture and the room fo the first half.

Now, I start filling up the another half of the image with grey scale technique.

Images That I Used

Process

First, I open one of the image and start cropping the object I want by 'Quick Selection Tool'.

After that, by using 'Move Tool' I drag out the object that I have cropped to another blank page.

For the background, I just place the image at the last layer.

Then, I keep cropping and place the object in, some of it i used it more than once.

Some of the image are very big, so is easy to have weird shapes around the object when done cropping. So, I used size 1 to crop the shape of the object carefully to reduce error occur, but some image I have found was already cropped.

I adjust some object size and location during the middle of the process. Some object like the meteor I make it merge into one layer, but better if you make it when you have comfirm the positions.

Sketches

Process

From start, as usual, place the sketches on first layer and turn it to template and start sketch out the outline of the sketches. I make the sketches into several parts of layer to make it easier.

After i have done all the sketches, I start putting in colour for the background by mesh and gradient tools. To make it more realistic I adjusted the mesh line like the image below.

For the corner of the upper left, I make the moon and the dragon logo with clipping mask.

After I have done the background, I start putting in colour layer by layer with the same tools as I used for the background.

After I have done in Adobe Illustrator, I open the same file by using Adobe Photoshop.

Starting from background again, I blurred the detail of it and apply some texture from the images I found.

I added a bit dark colour to show some depth with the tool opacity and the tool beside it.

I inplace the skin tone and added some shading areas to make it not that flat.

Same goes the the wearings of the character I put some tone and blur the details of it to make it blend with the background.

For some of the texture, make it more detail by copy the same layer but change to apply some tones.
